On Earth Day (April 22, 2023), young leaders came together to learn how to write letters to elected officials about the kind of environmental leadership they'd like to see.

A collaboration between GreenPAC and Youth Climate Lab, the workshop was free and open to all! Participants had the opportunity to acquire critical tools and skills to engage in environmental advocacy through letter-writing at the individual AND collective level.
The workshop began with a keynote speech from Jonathan Pedneault (Deputy Leader of the Green Party).

This was followed by an intro to letter-writing as an effective tool for advocacy by Soomin Han (Programs Lead, Youth Climate Lab) and a group brainstorming session, where participants engaged in a discussion about their concerns and ideas on how to strengthen environmental leadership in politics.

GreenPAC and YCL facilitators provided participants with guidance on how to structure and articulate these ideas in a clear and impactful way during the writing process. The workshop resulted in participants crafting ready-to-send individual letter to their MPs.
This workshop was the first of a series of events for this year’s Future Leaders in Politics (FLIP) 3.0.

What an incredible way to empower youth—teaching them to speak up for the planet is exactly what we need more of. It’s the kind of initiative that should be shared far and wide. Using affordable book marketing services could really help spread this message through stories, guides, or toolkits that reach more young people and educators.
This Earth Day workshop sounds like a powerful initiative to empower youth voices in advocacy. Just as writing to elected officials requires clarity and purpose, crafting a strong personal statement engineering students face a similar challenge, communicating complex ideas with impact and vision. Both highlight how structured writing can be a tool for influence, whether in politics or academic progression.
That sounds like such an inspiring initiative! Engaging youth in leadership through creative activities like this Earth Day workshop is a great way to foster responsibility and innovation. Collaborating with an animation video production company could also help bring these powerful messages to life, making them even more impactful for a wider audience.
