Paul Taylor (NDP, Parkdale—High Park) is an educator, anti-poverty activist, and political commentator whose work has spotlighted the connections between food security and climate change. As Executive Director of FoodShare Toronto, Taylor has been supporting community-based food initiatives, including leading and championing urban farming initiatives and the alternative use of public lands for agriculture. He regularly advocates for climate justice, Indigenous rights, affordable housing, and an equitable food system in Canada. His works is centred around those most affected by poverty and food insecurity — Black, Indigenous, people of colour, and people with disabilities — and is grounded in his personal experience growing up in a low-income, single-parent household. His leadership and activism have been recognized through numerous awards, including the Top 40 under 40 in Canada (2020).
