Mike Morrice (Green, Kitchener Centre) is an innovative social entrepreneur who has used community and business-led approaches to reduce greenhouse gases and drive sustainability. As Founder and Executive Director of Sustainable Waterloo Region, Morrice piloted Canada's first-ever Green Economy Hub, helping business and local organizations to set and achieve greenhouse gas and other sustainability targets. He spearheaded the creation of ClimateActionWR, securing unanimous support from Regional and City Councils to reach the community’s first-ever climate target. In 2013, he co-founded and served as Executive Director of Green Economy Canada, an award-winning organization that helps to establish Green Economy Hubs across the nation, and businesses to reduce their environmental impacts. He is the recipient of many awards for his work for his innovation in advancing corporate sustainability.
