Laurie Simmonds is the co-founder and CEO of Green Living Enterprises. She leads an award-winning team in the fields of brand and program development, custom content, marketing and communications, and event management. She has developed strategies and campaigns for issues such as education, health care, and the environment for brands including Province of Ontario, Province of Alberta, Samsung, TD Bank, The Home Depot, Loblaws, Toyota, Scotiabank, and the upcoming Pan Am Games. Green Living Enterprises also produces the Excellence in Corporate Responsibility Awards, GreenLivingOnLine.com and The Green Living Show.
Laurie has extensive publishing and custom content experience, having previously worked on Toronto Life, Eco Options, Fashion, Healthy Home, Green Living Kids, Eco Living and Canadian Art magazines.
Laurie has a longstanding interest in the connection between health and the environment stemming from her education in nutrition and medical sciences. She was co-founder of the Women’s Health Clinic in Toronto and the Ontario College of Homeopathic Medicine. She completed post-graduate work in India at the Bombay Hospital and has written and taught about environmental health.
Laurie is a member of the expert advisory panel for P & G, founder of the Green Living Foundation and a director of the Clean Water Foundation, and Stonedale Properties. Laurie is part of a select group of Canadians who completed The Climate Project training program led by Nobel Laureate Al Gore, was a participant of the Prince of Wales' Corporate Leaders Group on Climate Change and named one of Canada's Top 100 Most Powerful Women by WXN.
